Ultrasound

OndaSound

Ultrasound is a non-invasive type of device for temporary use. Ultrasound is designed to utilise, for therapeutic purposes, the biological effects induced on the human body by the mechanical vibrations produced by ultrasonic waves with a frequency of 1,000,000 cycles per second (1 MHz), imperceptible both acoustically and tactilely, to be applied to the human body non-invasively through a treatment head. This physical energy is called ultrasound, and the therapeutic practice, known and appreciated for the good results it provides in physiotherapy, is called ultrasound therapy. The use of ultrasound in physiotherapy is based on the interaction between the ultrasound and the tissue it passes through, which produces different effects: thermal, mechanical, cavitation, biological and phonophoresis.
